Babcock Feasibility Study

The City of Inver Grove Heights in partnership with Dakota County are conducting a trail feasibility study along Babcock Trail (County Road 53) from the 494 bridge down to 63rd Street where there is an existing trail.

The purpose of the feasibility study is to determine the potential need for pedestrian routes along Babcock Trail by residents, the opportunities and constraints of creating pedestrian routes along the various sections of this corridor, and the potential costs associated with the differing route options.

We need input from the community to determine if there is desire to have safe pedestrian routes along Babcock Trail.

Once completed, Mississippi River Trail (MRT) will extend 27 miles along the Mississippi River from St. Paul to Hastings, providing scenic views of the river and connections to local parks and trails and other community destinations. The trail will be paved and is intended for non-motorized uses such as walking, bicycling and in-line skating.
